1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the lerne.now application ("the App") and related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
lerne.now is a language learning platform that provides vocabulary building tools, pronunciation practice, translations, and spaced repetition study features. Certain features may rely on third-party AI, speech synthesis, and speech recognition services.
3. Account Registration
To access core features, you must create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. User Content
You retain ownership of the vocabulary, notes, recordings, and other content you add to the App ("User Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the service for you.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App; (b) use the App to infringe intellectual property or violate applicable laws; (c) upload malicious code, offensive material, or content that violates third-party rights; (d) attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts; or (e) abuse rate limits or automated endpoints.
6. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in the App, including its software, design, logos, and content (excluding User Content), are and remain the property of lerne.now and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or branding.
7. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services for features such as translation, text-to-speech, and speech-to-text. Your use of those features may also be subject to the terms and policies of the respective providers.
8. Fees and Subscriptions
Core features are free to use. Any paid features or subscriptions will be disclosed in the App prior to purchase. Purchases made through Apple App Store or Google Play are governed by the respective store's terms, including billing and refunds.
9. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time and request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, or pose a security risk. Upon termination, your right to use the App ends immediately.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that translations, pronunciations, or AI-generated content are accurate, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, lerne.now shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App, including loss of data, loss of profits, or service interruption.
12. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable local law without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of the jurisdiction in which lerne.now is established.
